Prof. Dr. Heinz Pampel

Heinz Pampel leitet den Lehrstuhl für Information Management am Institut für Bibliotheks- und Informationswissenschaft seit Ende 2022 im Rahmen einer ECDF-Stiftungsprofessur. Zuvor war er als stellvertretender Leiter des Helmholtz Open Science Office der Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft tätig. Dort hat er diverse Projekte zum Thema Open Science betreut. Seine Arbeit für Helmholtz führt er aktuell als Scientific Consultant fort.
Er studierte Bibliotheks- und Medienmanagement in Stuttgart und promovierte 2021 zum Thema Open Access an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind u.a. Informationsinfrastrukturen für Open Science, Forschungsdatenmanagement sowie Open Access und Entwicklungen der digitalen Wissenschaftskommunikation.
Er ist in verschiedenen Gremien und Initiativen rund um die Weiterentwicklung der Informationsinfrastruktur tätig.

Heinz Pampel has been a professor for Information Management at the Berlin School of Library and Information Science since the end of 2022 as part of an ECDF-endowed professorship. Previously, he was deputy head of the Helmholtz Open Science Office of the Helmholtz Association. There he managed various projects on Open Science. He currently continues his work for Helmholtz as a Scientific Consultant.
He studied library and media management in Stuttgart and received his doctorate in 2021 on the topic of Open Access at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. His research interests include information infrastructures for Open Science, research data management, as well as Open Access, and developments in digital scholarly communication.
He is active in various committees and initiatives related to the further development of information infrastructure.

Laura Rothfritz, M.A.

Laura Rothfritz ist seit 2020 wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin und Doktorandin am Lehrstuhl Information Management. Sie erhielt ihren Bachelorabschluss im Fach Bibliotheksmanagement an der Fachhochschule Potsdam und schloss dort 2019 auch ihren Master im Fach Informationswissenschaften ab. Sie arbeitete zudem seit ihrem Bachelorabschluss an der FH Potsdam im Fachbereich Informationswissenschaften als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin für unterschiedliche Forschungsprojekte (EU-, DFG- und BMBF-gefördert). Neben ihrer Tätigkeit als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin ist sie auch selbstständig mit ihrer Firma scidecode science consulting GbR als Scientific Consultant tätig. Seit 2023 ist sie Mitglied im Board of Directors des Einstein Center Digital Future (ECDF).
Ihre Forschungsinteressen liegen im Bereich Forschungsdatenmanagement, Infrastrukturtheorie und Open Science mit besonderem Schwerpunkt auf sozio-technologische Perspektiven auf die Beziehungen zwischen Dateninfrastrukturen und Gesellschaften und einem starken Bezug zu STS (Science and Technology Studies). In ihrer Dissertation untersucht sie Mistrauen in Dateninfrastrukturen. Zum Profil.
Laura Rothfritz is a research associate and PhD candidate at the department of Information Management. She studied at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam and earned her BA in Library Management. In 2019 she completed her MA in Information Sciences, funded by the EU, DFG, and BMBF. In addition to her role as a research associate, she is also an independent Scientific Consultant with her company scidecode science consulting GbR. Since 2023, she has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Einstein Center Digital Future (ECDF).
Her main research interests are in the area of research data management, infrastructure studies and open science with a special focus on socio-technological perspectives on the relationship between data infrastructures and societies and a strong relation to STS (Science and Technology Studies). The topic of her dissertation is distrust and mistrust in data infrastructures.

Dorothea Strecker ist wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin im Projekt "Datenpraxis zur Gestaltung der Open-Access-Transformation - Analyse, Empfehlung, Training & Vernetzung" (OA Datenpraxis).
Nach einem Bachelorabschluss in Bibliotheksmanagement an der FH Potsdam absolvierte sie 2021 den Masterstudiengang Information Science an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
Sie ist Mitglied in der re3data Working Group und dem ScholCommLab.
In ihrer Forschung beschäftigt sie sich mit Open-Science-Praktiken, insbesondere Informationsinfrastrukturen und der Metadaten für Forschungsdaten.
Dorothea Strecker is a research associate in the project 'Data practices for shaping the Open Access transformation - Analysis, recommendations, training & networking' (OA Datenpraxis).
Following a Bachelor's degree in Library Management at FH Potsdam, she completed the Master's programme in Information Science at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in 2021.

Marcel Wrzesinski ist seit 2023 wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiterim BMBF-Projekt „Professionalisierungder Open-Access-Repositorien-Infrastruktur in Deutschland (Pro OAR DE)“ am Lehrstuhl für Informationsmanagement des Instituts für Bibliotheks- und Informationswissenschaft. In seiner Forschung beschäftigt er sich mit der Governance und den Infrastrukturen wissenschaftlicher Kommunikation und Distribution. Hierzu gehören insbesondere Fragen nach der Zukunft wissenschaftlicher Zeitschriften, dem gerechten Zugang zu wissenschaftlicher Literatur und nachhaltige Geschäftsmodelle für wissenschaftsgeführtes, gebührenfreies Publizieren (scholar-led Diamond OA).
Er studierte Philosophie, Geschlechterforschung, Europäische Ethnologie und Volkskunde in Bochum, Berlin und Münster. Vor seiner Zeit am IBI betreute er als Fachredakteur die Open-Access-Aktivitäten am International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (Gießen) und war anschließend wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter in einem BMBF-Projekt zur Open-Access-Transformation in der Geschlechterforschung (Berlin). Er unterrichtete an den Universitäten Gießen, Köln, Bochum, der Humboldt-Universität Berlin sowie der New School for Social Research (New York City).
Neben seiner Tätigkeit am IBI ist er wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Alexander von Humboldt Institut für Internet und Gesellschaft, Redakteur des „Open Gender Journal“ und Co-Sprecher der Fokusgruppe „scholar-led.network“. Er berät diverse Forschungseinrichtungen zu strategischen und administrativen Fragen von Open Access und Open Science. Dabei geht es ihm um die Professionalisierung und Absicherung wissenschaftlicher Kommunikation in den Händen der Wissenschaft. Zum Profil.
Marcel Wrzesinski is a research associate in the BMBF project 'Professionalization of the Open-Access-Repository Infrastructure in Germany (Pro OAR DE)' at the department of Information Management at the Institute of Library and Information Science since 2023. In his research, he focuses on the governance and infrastructures of scholarly communication and distribution. This includes questions about the future of scholarly journals, equitable access to scientific literature, and sustainable business models for scholar-led, fee-free publishing (scholar-led Diamond OA).
He studied philosophy, gender studies, European ethnology, and folklore in Bochum, Berlin, and Münster. Before his time at IBI, he served as a subject editor for Open Access activities at the International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (Gießen) and later worked as a research associate in a BMBF project on Open Access transformation in gender studies (Berlin). He taught at the Universities of Gießen, Cologne, Bochum, Humboldt University Berlin, and the New School for Social Research (New York City).
In addition to his work at IBI, he is a research associate at the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society, editor of the 'Open Gender Journal,' and co-speaker of the focus group 'scholar-led.network.' He advises various research institutions on strategic and administrative questions related to Open Access and Open Science. His focus is on the professionalization and safeguarding of scholarly communication in the hands of the academic community.
