Das Projekt OA Datenpraxis unterstützt die Strukturbildung für die Open-Access-Transformation auf nationaler Ebene. Im Fokus stehen die Förderung und Etablierung von Prozessen und Verfahren zur souveränen Datenpraxis bei der Gestaltung der Open-Access-Transformation in Interaktion mit internationalen Entwicklungen.
Im Projekt werden Praktiker:innen an wissenschaftlichen Einrichtungen bei der Professionalisierung ihrer Datenpraxis unterstützt, indem die Organisation,Vernetzung und Standardisierung der jeweiligen Prozesse durch einen koordinierten Ansatz gefördert werden.
In dem Projekt werden (1) die datenbasierte Steuerung der Open-Access-Transformation verbessert; (2) Kooperationen bei der Datenpraxis der Open-Access-Transformation gestärkt; (3) Standards für eine kollaborative Datenpraxis zur Open-Access-Transformation entwickelt; (4) die Abhängigkeit von Datenquellen, die in kommerzieller Hand liegen, minimiert sowie (5) Informationsangebote zur Datenpraxis verbessert.
Mit dem Projekt wird ein zentraler Beitrag zur Weiterentwicklung der überregionalen Informationsversorgung geleistet. Dies geschieht durch Erhebungen, Analysen, Validierungen und operative Empfehlungen rund um die Datenpraxis bei der Open-Access-Transformation.
Weiter werden Praktiker:innen in Administration, Bibliothek und anderen Serviceeinrichtungen der Informationsinfrastruktur unterstützt.
Auf Basis dieser Arbeiten werden in einer Synopse strategische Empfehlungen für die Leitungsebene erarbeitet mit dem Ziel, einen Impuls zur Verbesserung der Datenpraxis auf nationaler Ebene zu geben. Das Projekt wirkt in die Breite, indem die Vernetzung der Professionals zu relevanten Themenfeldern gefördert wird. Dabei kooperiert das Projekt mit relevanten Stakeholder:innen und agiert im Sinne von Open Science offen und transparent.

Data Practices for Shaping Open Access Transformation - Analysis, Recommendation, Training & Networking (OA Data Practice)
The OA Data Practice project supports the development of structures for the Open Access transformation at the national level. It focuses on promoting and establishing processes and procedures for sovereign data practices, aligning with international developments in Open Access transformation.
The project assists practitioners at academic institutions in professionalizing their data practices concerning the Open Access transformation. This is achieved by promoting organizational and networking strategies for model development and standardization through a coordinated approach.
The project aims to (1) improve the data-based governance of the Open Access transformation; (2) strengthen collaborations in data practices for the Open Access transformation; (3) develop standards for collaborative data practices in this transformation; (4) reduce reliance on commercially owned data sources; and (5) enhance the transfer of skills and associated information services regarding data practices.
This project plays a crucial role in advancing cross-regional information services, through conducting surveys, performing analyses, undertaking validations, and providing operational recommendations concerning data practices in the Open Access transformation. Current data practices are thoroughly investigated and discussed. The project also supports practitioners in administration, libraries, and other service entities within the information infrastructure.
Subsequently, strategic recommendations for executive management are synthesized, aiming to catalyze the improvement of data practices at a national level. The project extends its impact through the transfer and reflection of knowledge, enhancing the networking of professionals in relevant fields. In line with the principles of Open Science, the project collaborates with key stakeholders and operates openly and transparently.
Partners include the research and teaching group Information Management at the Berlin School of Library and Information Science (IBI), the Helmholtz Open Science Office, and the Lower Saxony State and University Library Göttingen (SUB).
