Research Department Information Retrieval
The Information Retrieval Research and Teaching group deals with problems of effective retrieval of information objects of all kinds. This problem area contains all stages of information processing and distribution, from information organization, archiving, indexing to representation or visualization.
Particular focus areas are multilingual retrieval, the use of knowledge organization systems (KOS) for improved information organization and search as well as problems of heterogeneity and interoperability of information systems and information structures.
