PC-Pool

Besides the public PC-workstations available in the Jacob-and-Wilhelm-Grimm Zentrum, the Berlin School is proud to offer additional computers exclusively to Library and Information Science students.

Computer workstations

Room 118 offers numerous thin-client-PCs, which are connected to the application server of the CMS at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, as well as the IBI-specific server, which offers access to additional software.

Opening hours are mo-fri, 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.during the semester, excluding the teaching hours, which you may see on the booking plan on the door of room 118. The room is opened and closed by the university’s security service. Should the room be closed during opening hours, please ask Guido Tschacher or sekretariat.ibi (at) hu-berlin.de for the key.

 

 

Please note: Food and drinks, smoking and calls are not allowed in the PC-pool. Please make sure to keep the space tidy.

Hardware and Software equipment in the teaching rooms

For teaching purposes, we offer desktop-PCs with two monitors in the rooms 13, 19, 121, 123, 208 and 207. You may use USB-sticks and project your presentation through the projector. Additionally, room 19, 121, 123, 207 and 208 have a recording option through pre-installed microphones.

All computers run on Windows 10, including the standard software, such as the Office-applications.

HU-accounts

HU Berlin provides accounts for students and employees. Please log in with your account in order to use the university’s software-licences, the CMS E-mail, the WiFi etc. Please find more information here.
