Goals of the workshop

In Digital Humanities (DH) there are currently no commonly agreed upon criteria to measure success and impact of research infrastructures, their components, services and tools. In this two half-days workshop, we will bring together different stakeholder perspectives on impact factors and success criteria of digital research infrastructures in the Digital Humanities. In a collaboration between DARIAH-DE and the DARIAH Working Group Impact factors and success criteria, a collection of such evaluation measures was created – the Impactomatrix. In this workshop, the Impactomatrix will serve as starting point to create a holistic framework for measuring success and impact of infrastructures in DH. For digital tools and infrastructure components, it is essential to define how they are impacting research practices and how change induced through these services can be captured. Understanding impact areas will help to increase the visibility and transparency of research in DH and beyond, communicate the infrastructure’s benefits to potential researchers and funding agencies and strengthen the influence of digital research in DH.
The aims of the workshop are:

  • to bring together representatives of arts and humanities infrastructures to foster exchange and collaboration with regard to impact and success measures for digital infrastructures,
  • to highlight the different perspectives of DH infrastructures and their users,
  • to review and adapt impact areas, criteria and measurements aggregated in the Impactomatrix.

The workshop is free of charge but places are limited. To participate in the event, please register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/measuring-change-in-digital-humanities-workshop-on-impact-factors-and-success-criteria-tickets-42717454055
